Perrigo Heartburn & Acid Reflux Control 20mg Capsules Esomeprazole

Perrigo esomeprazole 20 mg reduces stomach acid to relieve frequent heartburn and acid reflux. It is a 24-hour proton pump inhibitor for short-term use in adults. Relief is not instant, most people feel better after 2 to 3 days, with full effect by 14 days.

How to use
Take one capsule once daily, preferably in the morning with water. Do not chew or crush. This medicine is not for immediate relief; continue daily for up to 14 days. Stop once symptoms have resolved. If symptoms persist or worsen after 14 days, seek medical advice. Do not use in under-18s. Leave several hours between this product and antacids if needed, and do not take at the same time as other acid-lowering medicines such as PPIs or H2-blockers.

Main ingredients
Each capsule contains esomeprazole 20 mg (as magnesium dihydrate). Notable excipients include sucrose and gelatin; the formulation also contains polysorbate 80 and colouring agents. Packs of 7 or 14 capsules.

Side effects and cautions
Headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, wind, nausea or vomiting are common. Stop and seek advice urgently if you develop black stools, vomiting blood, unexplained weight loss, swallowing pain, persistent severe diarrhoea, chest pain with breathlessness, or signs of allergy. Do not use if you are allergic to esomeprazole or other PPIs, or if you take nelfinavir. Talk to a clinician before use if you have jaundice or severe liver disease, severe kidney problems, are over 55 with new or changed symptoms, or if you take medicines such as clopidogrel, warfarin, digoxin, methotrexate, rifampicin, St John‚√Ñ√¥s wort, certain antifungals or HIV medicines. As a precaution, avoid use in pregnancy and do not use while breastfeeding. Contains sucrose.
