Fybogel Mebeverine combines ispaghula husk with mebeverine to ease IBS symptoms. It helps normalise bowel habit, relieves cramps and reduces bloating and trapped wind. Orange-flavoured granules mix with water and work locally in the gut. Not for children under 12.
How to use

Adults and children 12 years and over take one sachet half an hour before breakfast and one before the evening meal. If needed, a third sachet can be taken before lunch. Empty the sachet into a full glass of cold water, stir and drink straight away. Drink plenty of fluids during the day. Do not take just before bedtime. If symptoms do not improve after two weeks, seek medical advice.

Each sachet contains ispaghula husk 3.5 g and mebeverine hydrochloride 135 mg. Excipients with known effect include aspartame 16 mg, sodium 58.65 mg and potassium 97.6 mg per sachet. Other ingredients include potassium and sodium hydrogen carbonates, microcrystalline cellulose, saccharin sodium, flavourings and colours.

Gas, bloating, abdominal cramps or nausea can occur. Take with sufficient water to avoid throat or bowel blockage. Do not use if you have gut blockage, difficulty swallowing, severe constipation, or unexplained abdominal pain with sickness. Seek urgent help if you get allergic symptoms such as swelling, rash or breathing problems. This product contains aspartame, avoid use if you have phenylketonuria. Each sachet contains potassium and sodium, take care if you are on potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements or a low-sodium diet. If this is the first time you have IBS-like symptoms, or you are over 40 with changed bowel habit, blood in stool, weight loss, fever, pallor or persistent tiredness, speak to a doctor before use. Not for under 12s.
