First Aid
DryMax Super is a sterile superabsorbent dressing from Swedish manufacturer Absorbest, made for wounds that leak heavily. The dressing draws exudate down into its core, where the fluid gels and stays put, so it needs changing less often than a traditional absorbent dressing, keeps the wound environment moist and cuts the risk of maceration to the surrounding skin. Tested to EN 13726-1, the 20cm x 20cm dressing holds up to 600ml. The non-backed tube design lets either side face the wound, lets you layer dressings when a wound needs extra capacity, and works well under compression therapy, which makes it a sound choice for venous and arterial leg ulcers. The square format gives broad, even coverage over larger wounds. Sold as a single sterile dressing or as a pack of 10.
Cleanse the wound as your nurse, pharmacist or GP has advised. Apply DryMax Super with either side facing the wound, then hold it in place with a suitable bandage, retention garment or compression system as directed. Change the dressing when it approaches capacity or at the interval your clinician sets. Each dressing is supplied sterile and is for single use only.
DryMax Super is a sterile medical device rather than a medicine. Each dressing pairs a hydrophilic wound contact layer with a superabsorbent Absorbest core that turns exudate into a gel and locks it inside the dressing. Manufactured by Absorbest AB, Sweden. PIP code 421-3385 (20cm x 20cm, box of 10).
Do not use on the eyes, on mucous membranes or tendons, on dry wounds or inside wound cavities, because the dressing swells as it absorbs. Do not use on anyone with a known sensitivity to the dressing or its components. If the wound deteriorates or shows signs of infection such as spreading redness, heat, swelling or increasing pain, seek advice from your pharmacist, nurse or GP without delay. Do not use if the sterile pouch is damaged. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
